Our favorite DIY-inspired brewers at Craft-A-Brew are back at it again – This time with Make Your Own Wine kits. Did you catch that. MAKE. YOUR. OWN. WINE. Dreams have come true – and we were so excited when the kit showed up on our door step. A few months ago we were lucky to try the Hard Cider kit and fell in love with the process of getting to make our own spirits, and were even more in love with the abundance of booze we had in the fridge for cocktails (like the Summer Apple Cider Sangria).
And here’s the deal – there’s nothing better than a two-buck chuck from Trader Joes (which are actually $1.99 now) and a take-out pizza when you want to wind down. So the prospect of having bottles at our disposal when we wanted is truly promising. They kits are available in four styles – Pinot Grigio, Chardonnay, Cabernet Sauvigon and Merlot. And at $60 for a total of five bottles per batch – this is truly a great deal. Each kit comes with everything you need to make your kitchen a vineyard and corking tops. All you need to provide is five empty wine bottles (the fun part – you get to drink them).
The process takes about 30 days. So making your own wine is truly a commitment. But all in all – we’d wait for wine any day. You’ll probably need a friend for this one, so grab one of your best pal and commit some weekends together. Each kit comes with directions that make the process super easy, and while it's intricate, you'll have everything you need to be a professional Grigio Girl by the end of the month.
Our verdict? Craft A Brew does it again.
Whether you're snagging a gift for your best pal, need a great idea for a party game or want to try your hand at this fun DIY project.
