They say good things come to those who wait. Don’t believe in that mentality? Ask Patricio who waited out a cardigan to go on sale at Urban Outfitters for months – and snagged it for 70% off. Don’t pretend you haven’t been there; we’ve all waited for that coveted item that we’d prefer not to pay full price for - It’s just human nature. So as soon as it came in the mail, he decided it was time to test it out (regardless of the temperatures). Even though we're in that strange time in Spring where on Sunday it could be 50 degrees, and on Monday it’s 101, Patricio was ready to break it in. So on the days that we’re not parking as close as we can to the entrance of any building, or keeping extra hydrated – we pair some of our favorite spring pieces with the last remnants of our winter clothes.
On this particular day we were having a mix of both. It was both humid and breezy, so we opted for navy sweaters. Patricio and his newest treasure piece, and me a cropped sweater I snagged at Gap for $5.99. I guess you could call both of us bargain hunters. I paired with one of my favorite maxi skirts, another number from Gap (or vintage Gap as I like to call it). Patricio went with a polished white and denim ensemble finishing Cole Haan loafers. These looks carried us into the rest of our day for our trip Down on Grayson and around the Pearl. Don’t be afraid to mix high and low whether it be brands or pricing. Some of our favorite pieces are those unexpected surprises you find in the clearance section – and how fun is it to say “Oh this old thing?” when people ask about your outfit.
We’d love to know some of your favorite snags! Comment below or tag @mintsociety with those pieces you waited for!
